Who we are

A home away from home in Daegu

Daegu Indians (DI) is a community-driven association uniting the Indian diaspora in Daegu, South Korea. We celebrate Indian heritage, foster cross-cultural friendship, and provide welfare support for students and families living far from home.

Daegu Indians is a volunteer-run, non-profit community for Indians in Daegu, Gyeongbuk and across Korea. We help newcomers settle in, celebrate our culture, support education and careers, and build lasting friendships between India and Korea.

What our community says

Anjum Hanif Kohli
Dandiya Night by Daegu Indians was such a beautiful and memorable experience! Being away from home, getting a chance to celebrate our culture and traditions with our community in Korea felt truly special. The energy, music, colourful outfits, and the warmth of everyone made the evening unforgettable. It was my first Dandiya experience in Korea, and I’m so glad I got to be a part of it. Thank you, Daegu Indians, for bringing us together and making us feel a little closer to home! ❤️✨

Dasara celebrations with Daegu Indians brought so much joy, positivity, and a wonderful sense of belonging! 🌸🙏 Celebrating this special occasion in Korea with fellow Indians made it a truly meaningful experience. The Puja, festive spirit, vibrant cultural performances, and smiles all around reflected the beauty of our traditions and the strength of our community.

What made the celebration even more special was the opportunity to connect with people from different parts of India, share happiness, and celebrate together as one family, far away from our homeland. ❤️✨ Events like these remind us that culture brings people closer and creates lasting memories wherever we are.

My sincere appreciation to Daegu Indians and everyone who contributed to making this Dasara celebration a wonderful success. Wishing our community many more occasions filled with peace, prosperity, happiness, and togetherness!

Truly honored to be part of the Daegu Indians Association! The Dandiya Raas and Dussehra celebrations made me feel at home. It was a wonderful opportunity to meet fellow Indians in Daegu, connect with them, and celebrate our culture together.
